QLD:Court for Qld woman who left children

BRISBANE, Aug 1 AAP - A Sunshine Coast mother who allegedly abandoned her two daughters
in a car at a service station before disappearing for about two days is to appear in court.

Vickie Barrett, 37, has been charged with leaving a child under 12 without supervision
and failure to dispose of a syringe.

Barrett turned up at her home on Friday night after leaving the children on the Wednesday
night about 11pm at a service station near Nambour.

She had last been seen walking along the Nambour Connection Road later that night and
concerns were held for her safety.

Police said they had spent a lot of time and resources searching for Barrett and they
will continue investigating where she was during the two days she was away from her family.

She is expected to appear in court in the next few days.
