NSW:Runners prepare for tough Sunday run

An estimated 80-thousand runners are preparing this morning for the world's biggest fun run.

Sydney's City2Surf has never before attracted so many participants in its 40-year-history.

The tens-of-thousands .. who have signed up to tackle the 14 kilometre course from
the CBD through the eastern suburbs to Bondi Beach .. begin their slog after the starting
gun is fired at 8.30am (AEST).

The winner is expected to cross the finish line about 9am.

Olympic swimming champion GRANT HACKETT will officially start the historic race ..

which began in 1971 with just over two-000 entrants .. and was won by American KEN MOORE.
